So, you want to know something about us?
Well, MyTinyKitchen.net was purchased in early 2008. It was officially launched at the end of April with just one recipe. Our collection is growing. It’s safe to assume the number of recipes is growing by one a day!
We decided to make this site when we moved in together. I (Ciaran) was sick of eating take aways and the same old 2 or 3 bland meals. I didn’t have a clue how to cook. Claire then came into my life and started cooking up a storm. I figured it was because she had worked in a kitchen before. As time went on, I was watching how she cooked and was amazed at how quickly it was done. I thought to myself, “I can make that”.
So Claire showed me one or two recipes and I started to cook them. They’re feckin delicious. I was well proud of myself. I went online to find some more quick meals that were very easy to make. All I found were recipes that begin with:
Buy a packet of bolognese mix. Add water. Shake.
This was no good. These “ready-made” things are full of sugar and all sorts of crap. They don’t taste half as good as real food. And believe it or not (I didn’t at first) cooking from proper ingredients is a lot easier than I thought. It’s simple. So I decided to put this online. Be the first site to give you meals that are:
- Quick
- Easy
- Cheap
- Delicious
- Healthy
and can be cooked in a tiny kitchen (we’re renting an apartment). And here it is! We’re adding more and more recepies all the time so check back or subscribe to our feed (excuse the pun).
As you’re looking around the site, you’ll notice a few things common across the recipes. We rate them on:
- Taste:

- Note: 1 Star doesn’t mean it’s not nice. 1 Star means it’s fairly nice and you’d eat it again.
- Romance:

- Some meals just aren’t that romantic! They can be messy or just not very romantic in apperance. If you’re planning on impressing your significant other, I’d suggest going for the 4 - 5 rose meals. 0 - 1 Roses mean you know each other quite well and have probably eaten sloppy pizza together!
- Wherever you see this, it means Ciaran has made this recipe. Probably has a lot of cheese in it.
